TRAVEL DETAILS: travel on the 08.20 from Blackpool North which calls at Preston at 08.49 and Leyland 08.54. Connection to Preston depart Clitheroe 07.40 (change at Blackburn), Blackburn 08.14,Colne 06.50,Bamber Bridge 07.49. From Manchester direction the 08.22 from Victoria which calls at Bolton at 08.40. The walks will start when both trains have arrived.
Return from Darwen to Blackburn/Clitheroe at 15.49 or 16.30 and to Bolton at 15.10 or 15.58
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS: For the E Walk passengers should book a day return to either Adlington or Chorley depending upon which is the further station from their home station. For the C Walk ,passengers from the Preston direction should book a day return to Darwen which can be used via Chorley and Blackburn. From other stations two singles may be necessary.

TRAVEL DETAILS: The bus to Slaidburn departs Clitheroe Interchange at 09.25.
The train to Clitheroe departs Bolton at 08.20 and Blackburn08.52. Connections to Blackburn depart Blackpool North at 07.47 (change at Preston), Preston 08.22 and Bamber Bridge 08.30. From Chorley use the 07.58 to Preston which calls at Leyland at 08.08 or catch a bus to Bamber Bridge. From Colne, Burnley & Accrington it may be more convenient and quicker to catch a bus to Clitheroe.
Return from Clitheroe at 16.40 or 18.09
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS: Rail passengers from Blackpool, Preston, Bolton & Blackburn book a day return to Clitheroe. Those without a free bus pass should ask the conductor/booking office for a Plus Bus add-on fare when booking their rail ticket as this might be cheaper.
P.S. Don’t forget that two people travelling together from Blackpool and stations to Blackburn, without railcards, can book a Duo Return to Clitheroe giving a 50% reduction on the fare for the second passenger.

*WAYFARER TICKETS – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Wayfarer Tickets must be purchased in advance from manned stations in Greater Manchester, Chorley or Clitheroe Interchange. The tickets cost £10.00 for adults or £5.oo for the over 60′s (no proof of age required) and others are available for groups or children. The tickets are of a scratchcard type and must be validated with the date of travel.
Tickets can also be ordered in advance from: Wayfarer Ticket Sales, GMPTE, Wythenshawe, Manchester, M22 5RG. If ordering by post please send a cheque made payable to GMPTE and leave at least a week for reply.

EAST LANCASHIRE COMMUNITY RAIL WALK
The next Community Rail Walk will take place on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH when a 10 miles’ moderate route will be followed. The starting point is Clitheroe Station where the 280 bus will take you to Barnoldswick. From there the walk will lead you through the beautiful scenery below and around Pendle Hill via Higher Clough, Twiston and Little Mearley back to Clitheroe Station.
Walkers should meet at Clitheroe Interchange at 09.17 after the arrival of the train which leaves Blackburn at 08.52. Check timetables for connecting trains to Blackburn.
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS: All passengers should book a Day Return to Clitheroe. Two passengers travelling together may prefer to book a Duo ticket giving the second passenger a 50% discount. Bus fare extra or free with concessionary passes.
